HELLO
I have always been artistic. From a very young age I loved to draw and add color to everything I saw: a piece of paper, a table, a wall (sorry Mom!), a toy or a doll. These days, I tend to work small, mostly abstract pieces on clay board and specialty papers, though once in a while my brain will go big.
My ideas come from what I see around me and from how those images make me feel. I’m attracted to strong lines – actual and implied – and to deep contrasts. I’m most moved by things that grow or have some sort of living pulse – a tree, a bird, a boat on water. I often start with an image, or the memory of an image, and let it click through my circuitry, then I color, scratch and emphasize till a new piece arises.
